42nd Street Workshop at Charmille Dance Collective

42nd Street Workshop – A Show-Stopping Start to Our West End Series

Our very first West End workshop was a huge success—and what better way to launch the series than with the timeless tap musical 42nd Street! Held on Saturday 8th February at Kings Church in Epsom, this dynamic workshop welcomed dancers aged 11–18 for a high-energy day of professional musical theatre training.

Leading the session was the incredible Greta McKinnon, a West End performer with credits including 42nd Street, Top Hat, and White Christmas. A graduate of the Guildford School of Acting, Greta brought insider knowledge, passion, and infectious enthusiasm to the studio—creating a supportive space where dancers could experience authentic West End-style choreography without the pressure.

From intricate footwork to powerful stage presence, our students embraced every moment of the workshop. The atmosphere was electric, the smiles were genuine, and the confidence in the room was palpable. This unforgettable day set the tone for an exciting season of West End dance workshops at Charmille Dance Collective.

Wizard of Oz and Chicago Workshop with Harrison Wilde at Charmille Dance Collective

Wizard of Oz & Chicago Workshop – Musical Theatre Meets Jazz Fosse

On Saturday, 1st March, dancers of all ages gathered at Kings Church in Epsom for an unforgettable day of musical theatre magic, led by the exceptionally talented Harrison Wilde. This energising addition to our West End Workshop Series featured two contrasting but equally inspiring sessions.

The morning began with a vibrant Wizard of Oz workshop, capturing the magic of the London Palladium production. Dancers aged 8+ threw themselves into lively choreography that embraced character, showbiz flair, and storytelling. Harrison’s expert guidance made the class both accessible and inspiring, helping each dancer grow in confidence and performance quality.

The afternoon brought a shift in tone with a sleek and stylish Chicago workshop for dancers aged 12+. Focusing on precision, stylisation, and iconic Fosse technique, participants worked on developing stage presence and expressive movement. Harrison’s technical yet creative approach pushed dancers to refine their performance and explore new levels of artistry.

The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with students leaving motivated, confident, and eager for more. With its mix of expert teaching, engaging choreography, and a supportive atmosphere, this workshop was a standout success in our ongoing West End series—continuing to uplift and inspire the local dance community.
